World Oral Health Day (WOHD) Celebrated in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD – Aziz Fatima Hospital (AFH) in Faisalabad is a leading healthcare institution which has been providing medical and dental facilities since 1979. The hospital serves more then 600 patients through the Out Patient Department each day. It was the first time in the last 35 years that WOHD was celebrated in AFH on 20th March, 2015.

Dental Surgeon – Dr. Kiran Firdous and Medical Superintendent Br, Rt, Dr. Khalid Saeed Siddiqui were the main orgnizers and the programme was fully sponsored by SHIELD CORPORATION LIMITED. The basic aim of this activity was to create awareness among patients, to maintain their good oral health and advise them for the required treatment.

Dr. Kiran Firdous herself examined every patient with the co-assistance of Shahzad Bukhari (D.tc, D.hyg). Various senior doctors also appreciated this endeavor and showed their personal interest by visiting the Dental camp. Among these senior Doctors were; Dr. Prof. Noor Akber Sial (Orthopedist), Dr. Prof. Habib Subhani (Medicine Specialist), Dr. Zonia (Gynecologist) with her team, Dr. Alia (Gynecologist), Dr. Munir Alam (Plastic Surgeon), Dr. Arshad Farooq (Child Specialist) and Dr. Tahir (Child Specialist).

Other hospital staff such as nurses, ward boys and clerks were also very happy to get free dental checkups and help the doctors in making a positive and hygienic atmosphere for the checkups. Because this activity of WOHD was sponsored by SHIELD CORPORATION LIMITED, they provided gifts to all needy and deserving patients. By the end of the activity the doctors were able to attend more then 200 patients with complete examination, and advised many of them for follow ups.-PR
