ISLAMABAD: Planning and Development Minister Muhammad Sami Saeed has said Islamabad Teachers Institute that has been approved will play an important role in building teachers’ capacity.
The minister said this during a meeting held to review the progress made in achieving targets of the education sector, health projects, and sustainable development.
Appreciating the initiative to attract out-of-school children to education, he stressed the need to provide equal opportunities for education to underprivilegend children.
Saeed said information technology facilities in schools help prepare students to meet the challenges of the modern age.
He said his ministry has taken concrete steps in the health and education sectors.
The minister emphasised on implementation of the National Curriculum Council’s decisions, saying a uniform curriculum that aims to address modern challenges is very important to improve students’ mindset and quality of education.
He said the ministry should further strengthen the inter-linkage with the relevant ministries and departments to achieve sustainable development goals.
