LAHORE: Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College (AMDC) recently hosted a workshop on digital dentistry, especially focusing on Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technologies.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Ali Raza Jaffri, providing the participants with both theoretical insights and hands-on experience in CAD/CAM applications in dentistry.
The workshop aimed to educate participants on the core principles, benefits, and challenges associated with CAD/CAM systems and shed light on how these technologies enhance precision in dental restorations and improve patient outcomes through the customization and accuracy of dental appliances.
Dr. Raza Jaffri discussed two primary CAD/CAM techniques -- additive and subtractive -- and provided a detailed overview of the process involved in full mouth rehabilitation using CAD/CAM.
The event was attended by house officers and final-year students.
Dr. Zulfikar Ali discussed the latest software advancements in the CAD/CAM process.
The workshop was actively participated in by the entire surgery department, including Dr. Kashif, Dr. Ajay Sharma, and Dr. Bazgah, who contributed to the discussions.
The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, followed by refreshments and networking opportunities.
