LARKANA: The Department of Community Dentistry at Bibi Aseefa Dental College (BADC) Larkana organized an impactful oral health awareness session at Smart Star School, Larkana, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. A Bari Memon, Chairperson of the department.

The activity aimed to educate children on the importance of daily oral care and preventive dentistry at an early age. Students of 2nd Year BDS, Batch 13, actively participated by demonstrating proper tooth-brushing techniques, highlighting the significance of regular dental hygiene in preventing cavities and gum disease.

To encourage healthy oral habits, children were presented with toothbrushes and toothpaste as gifts — a gesture that motivated them to adopt consistent oral care routines. The young participants enthusiastically engaged in the demonstration and pledged to maintain regular brushing and hygiene practices.

Prof. Dr. A Bari Memon emphasized that community-based awareness programs are essential for building a healthier future generation. “Educating children about oral hygiene at an early age lays the foundation for lifelong dental health,” he said, commending the dedication of dental students in spreading awareness through hands-on learning.

This initiative reflects BADC Larkana’s strong commitment to community dentistry and its ongoing efforts to extend oral health education beyond the classroom. The college continues to lead preventive programs in schools and rural areas to promote awareness, accessibility, and sustainable dental health practices across Sindh.
